Granblue Fantasy's upcoming PS4 games

With Granblue Fantasy recently reaching 23 million players, developers Cygames talk about the franchise’s two upcoming games at Granblue Fantasy Fes 2018 on Dec. 15th. Whilst the original Granblue Fantasy game is only online on mobile and browser, these new games are going on consoles mainly on Playstation 4. As a Granblue Fantasy player myself, I’m interested to see how this Japanese franchise will do by releasing console games.

One of these games was the already announced Granblue Fantasy: Project Re:Link from last year’s Granblue Fantasy Fes, now renamed Granblue Fantasy Relink. The game is developed by Platinum Games and will be an RPG game but has yet to get a release date. I’m starting to wonder how much longer it’ll take for the game to come out, especially since the game was initially announced last year. In the meantime, at least there’s a new trailer out as well as some gameplay footage until that time comes. Thankfully the game will be translated into multiple languages, including English, which is an improvement from the original game having only Japanese and English.

The other game mentioned at Granblue Fantasy Fes 2018 is new, in a different game style and called Granblue Fantasy Versus:

Cygames announced at the "Granblue Fantasy Fes" event on Saturday that Arc System Works is developing a fighting game for the Granblue Fantasy franchise titled Granblue Fantasy Versus. The game will launch for the PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2019.

While I’m not the biggest fan of fighting games, I’m interested to see how well this game does and how it’ll work. I’m surprised that this game already has a planned year of release unlike Cygames’ other new game Granblue Fantasy Relink. At the same time, the games are being developed by different studios, which could explain the different information about their releases.  Granblue Fantasy Versus seems to be getting multiple language translations as well, which is an improvement like I have previously mentioned for the other game.

Besides these new games, there were also some announcements for the original Granblue Fantasy game including new skins, playable characters and stories. Overall it was an eventful Granblue Fes, but let’s just hope these new games will be out by then, most especially Granblue Fantasy: Relink.

Happy 2 year anniversary FINAL FANTASY XV!

On Thursday, FINAL FANTASY XV (FFXV) celebrated its two-year anniversary since game launch! As part of their long-running FINAL FANTASY series, Square Enix released action-roleplaying game FFXV on 29 th November 2016 for both Playstation 4 and Xbox One . Upon initial release, the game had already totalled to about five million sales in one day . With the addition of many expansions and other downloadable content, there was also the Microsoft Windows release earlier this year. With FFXV having reached over seven million sales this last summer, the company hoped that their Windows version would help them get to their 10 million personal goal. Both the official Japanese and English Twitter accounts for FFXV stated their thanks and appreciation to fans of the game, and even shared some new wallpapers for the special occasion.
